Discussion about
Installing new floors. Deciding between Mercier and Mirage floors. Any opinions or experiences with either of these brands?

I've bought several different kinds of e flooring over the past 6 years. The most important thing is to get the kind that does not show normal-intensity scratches. Take your keys or even a nail to the sample.

We installed a glorious dark floor that scratched if someone had, say, a cinder stuck in a shoe. In other place we installed a floor that got heavily indented with dog claw scratch marks, but the color went deep into the product, so the scratches were not noticeable at all.

Who is installing your flooring? I ask because I want to install floors in my apt. but my contractor wants me to put in a new bathroom also and I don't want to do this. And yes that's a good idea Flu

I've sold a couple apartments with Mirage floors in them. They both looked great and got a lot of compliments. One was a float install and while no one ever mentioned anything, I could feel a little give/bounce in some areas where the floor wasn't level. The other was a glue down install on slab and it looked and felt great.

There are many different manufactures of engineered floors, some better then others
Mirage is good, some of their woods are "soft" and dent easily
Junkers has the same price point and are nice
LV are very nice but much more money, same with PID
