Coop With Garage Renovations

I'm in the market to buy, and came across a coop I love because it meets all my criteria. But on the listing it states there will be garage renovations in the near future, so this piece of information is deterring me from moving forward. Has anyone had a similar situation as far as a complete garage renovation? In terms of maintenance costs, did it raise your maintenance significantly?
