New Thru the Wall PTAC units

Nope, not possible with a PTAC.

I installed an Amana unit. Works fine, reasonably energy efficient. The heater can be configured with several different options. See the Amana website.

We had ours installed last Jan. So our short experience is thru the summer and current winter. We used Ruth Stanley. We had decent 4-5 year old thru wall units previously. The ptac is much quieter, you can have normal voice level conversations. We tied in building steam heat to the units. So far so good. imho Its expensive but worth it. We also built nice covers via Little Wolf. Very nice /quiet finished look.

Knewbie Thank you for your comment. What type of bread of units did Stanley Ruth install? Did they install any extra sound installation for you?
