Enlarge kitchen/reduce size of bathroom

Probably not if your coop unit is required to be compliant. I have a coop with a small powder room that I want to return to a small bathroom and I am being told I cannot do so because it will not be compliant. It is my understanding that if you do anything to bathroom like moving fixtures and walls, you must be compliant unless otherwise exempt.

When you say "return" to a small bathroom, if it had at any point been a full bath, I thought you would be able to return it to the original since original non-compliant spaces are exempt - as I understand it. I recently saw an architect's apartment who had turned a small prewar, half bath into a commode, sink, shower. However, I didn't ask if it was compliant.
