Discussion about Knox at 49 East 34th Street in Murray Hill
Do not rent here! 2 elevators for 36 floors with 1 down for repairs or porter usage ~50% of the time; 5-10 minute wait times very common No gas for ~3 months; tenants offered a ~5% rent reduction during the time noting it was "caused by previous work done by a third party and not by the landlord"; presumably if a third party ripped out some structural beams and the building collapsed, they'd still... Other issues include recurrent water leaks requiring floor / wall repairs. Vinyl flooring not secured to baseboard that gets 6 inch bubbles during the summer. Staircases smell like cigarettes. Gym temperature ranges 40-50 degrees winter to 90 degrees summer. Got locked out one night for 30 minutes returning from work as doorman gone and tenants don't have front door key. And the Dunkin Donuts next door doesn't serve sausage so enjoy the veggie breakfast sandwich. Absolute joke. [less]

Worst part is the . . . . . Dunkin Donuts lack of sausage sandwiches ... how about bacon ?!?!?!?
Sometimes elevators break down. parts are not readily available. management is not always evil.
2 elevators for 36 floors? Didn't you notice this when you visited the building before signing a lease?
