Agent Managed FSBO in NYC. Awesome!

@stevef We have been doing this for 8 years. $80 million in transactions this year. How about some love for a hometown boy bringing something different to the table for buyers and sellers that has been very successful. This has been a static industry for a 100 years, there is room for alternative (disruptive) models. I have an amazing, easy to implement idea that would turn the rental market upside down. However I just don't have the time. I am also speaking with a group trying to develop a platform that will truly shake things up! For me this is all very exciting, I have no fear of change as it creates opportunity and a more dynamic environment for all involved.

However, at the end of the day you have to bring an articulate, informed, intelligent understanding to the process. You can't just wave a discount flag and expect to be embraced or successful! The buyer/seller base in NYC is way to informed and demanding to accept mediocre assistance with a multi-million dollar transaction.

Also getting into the RLS is no real solution in itself, this is a portal for brokers who subscribe to the service.

Hey guys - also need to jump in here. If I am correct, my company, RealDirect, was the first to coin the Owner Managed and Agent Managed term. We've done north of $100M in transactions for several years in a row and have saved our clients millions in commissions. But, as Keith so eloquently stated, it's not just about saving money. It's also about experience and service. All of our deals wear our name and brand as the listing broker, and we take pride in the service we deliver, all the while saving our clients a ton of money. Best of luck to all of you on this thread - the more of us that offer great service at fair prices, the more people will realize that there are viable alternatives to the traditional brokerage, and that will lead to growth in the sector.
