Hi All, the Streeteasy board has been a great resource for me during my gut renovation, which turned out to be spectacular, beyond my wildest dreams. So thanks for everyone's help along the way. But the real reason why I WILL NEVER MOVE! is that I hired a brilliant designer who did everything - reconfigured the apartment (for example, to take advantage of the light and views), bid out the job to contractors, supervised the construction and,after I moved in (with no furniture), was my interior designer who created a space that is as beautiful and stylish as it is comfortable and practical - all within my budget constraints. There are modern touches that merge seamlessly with my family heirlooms and disparate items that I've collected from my travels. Somehow, my designer managed to make everything work. My designer has some projects that are coming to a close - and I'd like to help out folks on the Board (as you helped me).
