Hi, Renting a studio apartment in Manhattan. Super painted the place last week and did a pretty lousy job. Since it's rent stabilized I don't think there's any point in pestering him further. I'd rather hire a real painter to do things properly (smooth walls, dammit.) Can anyone recommend someone? Thanks in advance.

Smooth walls cost a lot of money with skim coating. For a rent stabilized apartment, the walls are likely old and will hard to make smooth with simple painting. Try to go to Janovic and get one of the painters to quote you and see whether they can do a better job. Unless you want to spend 10k and get skim coating.
