Give Apt to Friend

I currently live in a one bedroom flex with a pressurized wall to create the second bedroom. I have a friend who wants to take over this apartment. My lease is ending and they will just have to start a new lease with the building. I'm thinking this will save us both on costs because I don't have to remove the pressurized wall, plus I'm planning on selling some furniture to them as well. However, the management office said that even if my friend were to start a new lease, I would still have to return the apartment as it was received - without the wall or any of my furniture. Is there any way to get around this?
