Discussion about Two WorldWide Plaza at 350 West 50th Street in Hell's Kitchen
This building suffers from a bad structure of management and board accountability. Plus it is a totally corrupt place, where the hugely inflated common charges and subsequent budget get stolen in all sorts of scams. Hiring outside contracts from companies that don't really exist, double billing, etc. etc. But right now the current board is trying to push through a $33 million renovations package... [more]
This building suffers from a bad structure of management and board accountability. Plus it is a totally corrupt place, where the hugely inflated common charges and subsequent budget get stolen in all sorts of scams. Hiring outside contracts from companies that don't really exist, double billing, etc. etc. But right now the current board is trying to push through a $33 million renovations package that will have owners paying double maintenance for the next several years. Plus they have other big time scams set up. Buyer Beware, you will be paying upwards of $60k per year in assessments on a 1br apt. This building is a glorified rental building, don't be fooled just because it has doormen. The location is great however, and the units are nicely laid out, many with awesome views. Just be ready to get raped on a monthly basis living there. Old school corruption is alive and well at world wide plaza.I lived there for over 10 years, I know what I'm saying. Just go check all the current lawsuits going on there too! [less]

Why is that ironic? He was trying to clean up Manhattan. Part of that means moving such activities to other boros. The OP is user212, not user718 - it's been decades since the Bronx was 212.
To user212, as you chose to leave, your comments should have left with you. Though there is merit in some of what you write, "cutting and running" does not compare to the "standing and fighting" that owners now seeking to be elected to form a new Board are doing. We know who you are and that you have seen our messages. Why not take the high road and write to compliment our stance and support our efforts to make WWP the shining lamp it was built to be. With the election only a month away, support is welcomed. No need to revisit and bash history, especially since you are no longer part of the home. So, make your parting words positive to help us. It's easy to criticize others; but, way too many do nothing but criticize and then leave. We are seeking to do the positive and stay, for the benefit of all.
Typical response from the new board, just like the old board. "We know who you are", "your comments should have left with you". I can write what I want, especially when I have the truth on my side and your veiled threats don't scare me. How long can one live in a toxic cesspool? The new board has continued the policies of the previous venomous boards, raised common charges again, etc. I stand by what I said in the past, this building is not a real luxury doorman building, its a toxic swamp. Luckily for the new buyer, its a big building so you can stay relatively unknown, wait a few years for your investment to rise in value, sell and move somewhere you will feel good about living! Each new board brings a new style of scams, where are all those millions of $ of common charges going? do the math, read the spreadsheets, there is at least $500k-$1 million per year that gets "misspent" on whatever. A former super is now a retired millionaire from 10 years of theft in this place.
