Avalon Bowery Place

Hey guys. Been living in the city for a couple of months in AirBNBs. Tried Murray Hill and now in the LES for a month. We are two single guys in our 20s looking to rent a place for a year, and were thinking about getting a 2 bedroom at Avalon Bowery Place. As far as I can see the pros are: right across from whole foods, right by the subway, close to downtown nightlife and dining, doorman building, neighborhood feels pretty safe, but also better culturally than, say, Murray Hill. I looked for other luxury doorman type buildings in this area and they all seem less nice than Avalon Bowery. But, I'm not from NYC so i'm only going off of two months of experience. Do you guys have any opinions? Are there any other good options in the area, or better areas to look into? Another option we are thinking about is Greenwich Village / Union Square / Flatiron area, but not sure if you can find equal quality / price / location in those areas. Our budgets 6k by the way.
