Discussion about
Just got my first invoice from my architect for the schematic design It was very simple. It had a 2 week date range and listed 14 hours as the time at work and of course the grand total. Is there supposed to be more information? Does one just trust that it took 14 hours of work? Next invoice For the next invoice, the design development. The architect is aware that she went way off my inspirational photos, style and etc. We emailed this. Should I gently remind her of it or wait to see the invoice for that? I don't feel I should pay for a design that was the complete opposite of my style.

Is it too late to negotiate fixed fee using her going off on a tangent as an example of disagreement you may have with hourly rate?

I would at least negotiate a cap. Otherwise, you have no way to control cost.

We have listed in the contract a range of hours for each phase 10-20 for example. I guess in a way that's a cap? I'm going to to mention the going off on a tangent as heads up for the DD invoice. It would be really uncomfortable to challenge the next invoice after she issued it.
