Discussion about
I'm thinking of renovating some things in my apartment. This included installing new floors, renovating the bathroom and kitchen, and adding wall-to-wall carpeting. I am NOT changing the layouts or touching electric or plumbing. Will I be required to file anything with the city regarding permits?
How extensive a reno in the bathroom/kitchen? Just changing a cabinet here and there or something more involved? Some buildings will make you change all the branch lines and install new shut off valves if you start opening up the walls. Get a copy of the alteration agreement from the management company and see what documentation is asked for.
no - it is a decoration agreement - you just need to file the decoration or alteration agreement with your building and get approval
If you are renovating the bathroom and kitchen it might not be a decoration agreement and probably is not.
How are you not touching plumbing or electric if you are renovating the kitchen and bathroom? Most buildings require you to bring the branch lines back to the riser and you might need permits. You should submit a scope of work to your building and see what they say
