The Hub's amenities are what distinguishes it among the many other new apartment complexes in the area. But be aware that they are not freely available to residents; they cost $80-100 per family member per month! If you want to invite a guest that costs more, if you want to barbeque that's more. Also the gym will be open from 8AM to 8PM which will be a challenge if you have a day job. And since the amenities are managed for profit by a third party, there's list of rules restructing use that is as long as your arm. When I learned this I didn't feel welcome at all.

But do you like living there otherwise?

Building is nice but not worth it without the amenities so take into account the extra $80/per person per month. These guys and 300 ashland are pricing well above other rentals in the area and encroaching on manhattan rents.

It's incredibly loud in the mornings as there's a ton of construction in the area. Also not convinced the elevators are safe.

Was in the elevators twice when it suddenly free fell and got caught by the brakes. No one batted an eye here and it seemed like it was a common occurrence.

Be ready to wait minutes for the elevator every day. That doesn't sound like a long time but trust me it is long.

Also the AC/heat doesn't seem to circulate properly and you'll notice a few times a year it isn't even working.

A/c in the building is still awful. The maintenance staff are unable to calibrate or fix units -- mine is set to "70 F" and an actual thermometer shows the room is "89 F" and the A/c doesn't run.

Elevators are still awful. Just last week 2 of the 3 elevators were down for days, this is not uncommon. You WILL wait for many many minutes -- one evening I had a timer running and it took 13 minutes of waiting in line downstairs to get up, and that was with a lot of people giving up.

Sounds like the "maintenance" people are morons
