Discussion about
As we reach the end of our apt combo, we have passed Plumbing and General Contractor Inspections. The final one will be electric. My Contractor tells us that as long as the owners are home on the day of inspection we should be fine. There's no need for him or the electrician to show up. Is this true? Finally - is there anything in particular that the inspector looks for? Our breakers are all AFCI and per NYC code, all smoke alarms are wired. Any other tip would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you're personally knowledgeable about NYC code, and can defend the contractor's work, I'd have the contractor or his representative there, so if the inspector has any issues, they can be directly answered, and a remediation worked out. Wouldn't hurt if you were there as well, just to know of any potential issues that would otherwise be unknown.

Thank you. We ended up getting two objections, both CERTIFIABLE.
They are easy to do and we just need to take a picture and have electrician send to the DOB.
Obviously we will do it, but it is a bit silly to me, because how do you know people are sending pics of their own home?
