Neighboring Scaffolding Up To My Windows!

I live on the 2nd floor of brownstone/walkup. The larger rental building next door just built a scaffolding that comes right up to my large glass windows, with no barrier or gap. View is not an issue, but rather the safety of my family with workers, burglars, or whatever who can easily break in. What recourse do I have, what can I ask my landlord to do?
