Discussion about 30 West 60th Street in Lincoln Square
Newcomer, Usually monthly maintenance gives you a good indication of the financials. If you have any accepted offer, it is time to go into futher details which will basically confirm whether the current maintenance level is sustainable or not. If you start to investigate the financials of every building before an accepted offer beyond monthly maintenance, you are just creating yourself extra work. Your lawyer is the best person to read and explain the financials rather than taking a word of someone on an anonymous message board. Your broker should help as well by talking to the selling broker. The answer will be every thing is great till you actually review.
300_mercer, thank you very much. You have a good point.
I think gossip serves an important purpose and it's a legitimate ask in a forum. Whether it's your buyer broker's gossip or anonymous poster gossip it raises questions that otherwise may not get asked. I agree with 300 that unless maintenance seems out of step with a kind of building, it usually is a comfortable sign.
