Coop pied-a-terre/Full-time College child

Discussion about
Been finding out that a lot of coops want the child to be working & gaining income when purchasing an apartment. However, he is an undergraduate student. Can't I just buy a coop as a pied-a-terre (in buildings that allow pied-a-terres), close the purchase, & then allow him to occupy the space full-time as an immediate family member? Anyone on a coop board / real estate attorney, your opinion is really appreciated.
