Discussion about
I own a single family townhouse in Bushwick, I share a wall with a mirror property that has been vacant since 2009, and is nearly falling down. Recently my wife and I went inside, as we found out the key.combination to the keypad lockbox to unlock front gate (gate replaced the front door), and besides noticing the entire place looks to be ready to fall down, two of the ceilings are covered in black mold, on two different floors. Since we share a wall, are we at any risk and/or does this give legal ground for demolition? I've gone to dept of. buildings downtown Brooklyn to ask if there was anything we could do to have it torn down, and the long answer was "no", this was however before we discovered the mold.

I would suggest getting a license mold inspector to assess your walls. I have used Microecologies twice and they are top notch. If it turns out that you do have mold, perhaps you can hire a lawyer. Check on acris to see who owns the property and call 311 to report dangerous conditions (it's almost falling down?) at the very least.

And probably best not to trespass again. That could work against you.
