Discussion about
Just kidding but do expect this thread title or something similar to be posted by EddieWilson in the near future Some upcoming thread titles by EdiieWislon we can all look forward to "Manhattan RE prices have gone down 80% YOY" "Soup lines form in Times Square" "90% of Manhattan owners are in foreclosure" "unemployment finally hits 100% of all Manhattan Residents forcing everyone to sell their apt at 1940 prices"
BTW just out of curiosity what percentage of those you post on these threads are renters?
Let me take a stab... I say 98%
I agree with you, houser, people are so negative on these threads, they have to be bitter renters.
"Well Regis, let's see, let's see, let's see...... this is a site which focuses on real estate that is for sale....would someone who rents and is in the market to buy come to a web site that shows real estate for sale???...how am I supposed to know??...and......oh yeah, it is a site that also shows real estate for rent.......this is a tough one...would someone who is looking to rent an apartment actually come to a web site that shows apratments for rent???....gee.. tough...and i already phoned a friend....so this is a guess..just a guess.....but i am going to say that yes..yes..more than half the people who post are renters.... final answer..."
good question though houser.
FWIW, I am a renter and an owner. You?
WSJ says today forecast for Q2 is north of 2% growth, possibly to negative by Q4. They keep pushing off the recession forecasts.
> Some upcoming thread titles by EdiieWislon we can all look forward to
The best part is that all the ones you are complaining about were article titles. I didn't make anything up.
I'm sorry you don't like what they're saying, and the implication that your LIC "investments" are screwed, but yelling "bitter renter" isn't going to fix anything.
The ironic part it - particularly looking at this thread - it certainly 'aint the renters who are bitter...
"path: I agree with you, houser, people are so negative on these threads, they have to be bitter renters."
"Bitter renters"?
How about JOYFUL renters who aren't seeing the value of their primary asset plummet?
BTW I, like jake, am both an owner and a renter.
So much for "bitter."
My rent was raised 29% starting August. I'm a bitter renter.
Joyful renters with cheap floors, low ceilings, bad rental neighbors, white appliances, annoying supers, annual increases, ...
My rent was raised 10% in June but don't tell that to EddieWilson or Stevejhx because according to these geniuses my rent was supposed to drop.
and Peterfitz is happy
> Joyful renters with cheap floors, low ceilings, bad rental neighbors, white appliances,
Yes, because folks who bought shit construction condos don't have ANY of that...
Stupid argument... there is shit in rentals and shit in condos, and good in both.
> annoying supers
Yes, it so sucks to have someone to fix stuff for free. Wish I were smarter and could pay for it!
> annual increases, ...
Because carrying charges NEVER go up, right. And, in the end, I'll CERTAINLY take that over losing 10% a year (50% when leveraged) in a LIC co-op.
Once again.. the ironic part it - particularly looking at this thread - it certainly 'aint the renters who are bitter...

Well, maybe you're just an idiot then... because avg. rent in Manhattan went down this month, per Crain's latest issue...
