Refinance Appraisal

I am trying to refinance my co-op apartment to take advantage of the low interest rates. My co-op will not allow the bank appraisal into the building. And my bank (TD) will not move forward with the refi without an updated appraisal. What are the alternatives? Seem unfair from both the bank and the co-op - and the savings are significant - over $1200 per month.

TD may be allowing desk appraisals or virtual appraisals where you show video of the interior. How current is your info? Have you appealed internally? Might be a junior person who doesn't really know.

Your alternative is to go with another lender.

I am a mortgage broker and I have several lenders that I doing drive by appraisals or have permission to postpone the appraisal for 120 days and still close. No cost to apply.
