vine support on the penthouse terrace

Discussion about
I want to put quite a few steel wire from a fence on the terrace to the roof of the apartment. I also have no idea how to approach this project. Metal latches or something will have to be screwed (drilled) into the exterior wall, among other things. Anyone has experience with a project like this? Thanks to all.

Forgot to say: IT's for supporting vines/grapes and creating shade.

The obvious first question is if you've actually gotten clearance from the board of your building to drill into a "common area" such as the exterior wall of your co-op/condo? You can't do that without board approval.

malraux - yes we did. Also, the drilling is going to be just to attach the loops to secure the wire.
