They indeed have a reputation for being loose with claims and wordings.

They were not “loose” in writing the policy as they insisted on inspecting our apartment before writing the policy, and our electrician gave a written report regarding cause of damage.
So there’s something wrong with an insurance company that actually pays legitimate claims?
And the insurance is for replacement cost, not deprecated value.

Have friends whose kitchen was damaged. Kitchen wasn’t brand new and Chubb recognized that replacing just the damaged cabinets and flooring would never really match the other parts of the room. They paid for replacement of all cabinets and flooring at the same level of the of the original
