Discussion about 211 Schermerhorn Street in Downtown Brooklyn
Seems stalled, anyone know anything?
I am always amused by people that move to Downtown Brooklyn and then bemoan living next to welfare centers, prisons, homeless shelters, courthouses, and other offices of government infrastructure.
This is a civic center where the borough’s government has historically always done business and housed such institutions. You should know what you’re walking into. What did you expect? These places have to go somewhere central enough for anyone to be able to reach them.
You could easily move a couple blocks away in any direction, be in a “nicer” neighborhood and not be around these institutions you detest so much.
That's the thing about downtown Brooklyn. It's a major transit hub and it won't gentrify like magic.
