Discussion about 14 Saint Lukes Place
As far as I can tell: Robert DeNiro originally listed his St Luke's Pl house in 2011 for $14 million and after a couple of price cuts finally sold it for $9.5 million mid 2012. The buyer had plans drawn up and got the through Landmarks but did no actual construction and sold the house 2 years later for $12 million. That buyer did an extensive renovation including adding an elevator and moderately high end finishes ($2.5 to $3 million????) and it just went into contract asking $13.5 million after being listed in June with a "must sell" tag line. I'll eat curious to see what the closing price is. How much do you think they will end up losing on this transaction?

I like how the new owner gave the townhouse a name. Arbor Vitae... that's a kind of tree, right?

It just means "tree of life" in Latin.

What is $5M, not counting opportunity cost of capital, Alex?

How many residences does DeNiro have in Manhattan? I thought he lives at the San Remo and has for some years. Perhaps just a second residence? Must be nice.........
