We lived in this building for over a year, renting for over $14,000 a month on one of the top floors. The level of street noise in the unit was unreal and unlike any other apartment we have lived in in NYC. With all of the windows closed, we could hear conversations on the sidewalk. In the wee hours of the morning, trucks would pull up onto Lexington, their breaks squealing as they stopped, and then their loading docks screeching. We would get woken up every single morning. On top of that, the air conditioners in the unit have water pumps that buzz loudly all night long. They say it's a doorman building, but the doormen were only occasionally at the door to open it. If you have packages when you arrive home, the doormen won't tell you, and let you go up to your apartment without them. In short, horrible location, noisier than you can imagine, and not worth the price at all.

I'm wondering why they lived there over a year. Two year lease?
