Discussion about
Buildings have protocols but there's still knowing its in the building. what's the reaction? Is everyone understanding or is there a level of concern or fear? NYC is unique. We're dense. We live in high rise buildings. We share elevators and lobbies

I know personally of 2 apartments whose owners had come back from Florida and quarantined for 2 weeks in their apartments. I had had some of the same reactions as you, but found things had been handled well.

They had notified building management and staff before returning. Our building had stopped allowing delivery people bring up deliveries to an apartment, but dealt with quarantine protocol by allowing delivery people to bring things up to those apartments and leave them outside the apartment door.

I think both the owners and the building management handled the situation very well.

I'm amazed that anyone pays attention to these quarantine rules. I've seen plenty on social media from people who are just as mobile as ever. And in any event, Borough Park has a bigger covid problem than many of the places people are coming from. At this point it's all kinda ridiculous.

Btw, as long as you wear a mask and don't have extended interaction with someone who has the disease, you have very low risk. Shared elevators and lobbies are not the main vectors of transmission.
