Discussion about 100 Remsen Street #4F
(Discussing Sale at Remsen Street) Any opinions on the best brokers for sellers in terms of marketing your place etc? They're all pretty scummy in general with your interest rarely at heart. Are brokers willing to go down to 5% commission, or is it only the smaller brokers who are willing to do this?

fisrt in this market you don't want to consider 5% where developer giving away cars or other incentives. Some brokerage firms red flag commission less than 6% and many buyers make the effort in a slower market to even pay extra for marketing since they know how important it is. You get what you pay for. (if it's a good broker you get your money back through a higher sales price)
It's always hard to recommend someone on here but there are good brokers out in the field. In general go with a larger firm and try to find a good agent within.
I've made good expiercenc with

"Torsten Krines":http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/contact/9360-torsten-krines
Sotheby's Realty
www.nycsir.com you can find him under agents

his profile says "it's not about closing another deal." Which in my case was very true because he cares more having long term business relationship and knows the difference between a happy and unhappy client. He advised me on certain things that financially wouldn;t have been as rewarding for him as other options.
He works only in Manhattan though.

I agree, use the larger firms for better results. My best experiences have been with Darren Sukenik of Elliman. He knows the business and is quick and responsive.

He covers dowtown mainly.

One of the best real state brookers works for Douglas Elliman. He is outstanding and is always for the client.Brokers are in a business and we all know that but some are better than others. This Broker is in my experience the Best and Ethical. I have send many prof priends to and they all agree that is has their interest at heart. His name is TIMOTHY MELZER (Douglas Elliman)
