(Discussing building at 411 EAST 57 STREET) Any feedback on this building? It seems apartments are on the market a long time before selling.

Clean, neat building. Medium size leads to good service and friendly atmosphere.
I Like the roof deck.

Beautiful lobby--renovated Fall 2006. In the last few years, the elevators, heating system, roof exhaust fans, exterior brick work and sidewalk have all been replaced.

I love the area but I see that apartment repped by The Developer's Group: 38 days & they still don't have photos or floorplan on their website. I'm glad they're not representing me.

What I understood that to mean is people who want to be Rockefellers & Astors & Dukes. Besides co-ops being a business entity, they can also become a sort of exclusive club & we can only have "our kind" living here.

30% down, no guarantors or parents buying for kids, pied a terres generally allowed only if one partner works in the city, no subletting.

pet friendly, average/fair stable maint, great lobby, nice fast elevators, roofdeck, great staff and residents, wide hallways, garage. probably typical of the non prestige sutton area coops.

Does anyone have more current information on this building? We're looking for a modest but convenient apartment in the city, and this seems to meet our needs.
Thanks ahead for any info you may have.

The coop is currently updating the hallways and when complete this building will look sharp.

Does anyone have any information on this building/board/neighborhood? The location seems to be convenient to a lot the City has to offer.

We've been living here for about 3 years (18A). Relatively small friendly building with excellent staff (super, handyman, doormen). Board is excellent with professional bankers, accountants, managers on it. Their only concern, insofar as I can tell, is that prospective buyers be financially stable. Building has solid finances. Good mix of retired people and families with young children. Superb bus service with 1's and 2nd Ave. buses plus 2 crosstown buses (M57 and M31). New school on 57th St. between 2nd and 3rd Ave. will be opening in a matter of months. Prices seem to have dipped and are now coming back similar to similar co-ops in the neighborhood. Garage is filled and has a long waiting list - forget about it.
