This place is awful, Some History, go on line "rent strike at 265 east 66 St".,, a rent strike in the late 80's; because the landlord (Solow) failed to fix the elevators, the court gave the rent strikers a judgement against the landlord, saying landlord failed "the reasonable expectation of tenants". Here's what I find today, the elevators are still a problem, frankly not enough cars for a high rise building, make sure you leave extra time to leave the building and are often broken (out of service), the AC is inadequate for an all glass building, the AC units in each apartment have drip pans under them, so it leaks from your ceilings from the apartments above you, the AC in the health club is awful, we have cockroaches, one tenant, as far as I know had/has bedbugs, the Gym charges a crazy fee, you should join Equinox for that charge, they are reducing the rent drastically due to vacancies, for new tenants only, but won't reduce the rent for an 8 year tenant. They are doing cosmetic renovations to encourage new tenants and giving an outside rental agent the first pick of offering those units, but won't do any renovations, like kitchen's for this eight year old tenant, my kitchen cabinet doors continually fall off, the seal is broken on the dishwasher, in fact they want to increase my rent for a new lease !! The windows need replacement as the thermo pane is starting to leek, they are foggy. Security at the entrance is awful anyone can come into the building, they have cut back on staffing and the entrance way staff because of the many many vacancies. Beware this place might offer you a deal due to covid, but it isn't worth it?, take a good look around, you can do much better, with more pleasant people .Don't be foiled by this fraud. [less]
