Discussion about 40 East 88th Street #11C
If the Board sucks .... why did they apply ?
Probably because they liked the apartment. Sounds like you haven't heard how co-ops work, but boards don't advertise that they're bigoted and make racist or homophobic denials. First you get to go through the months-long, invasive and humiliating process of providing them your entire life history and tell them things about your finances that your best friends don't even know, and then they deny you without having to explain why.
You made a post about this 5 months ago. Has something new developed?
No, my original comment was about another apartment in this building. My case is still working its way through the NY Department of Human Rights, so I've been keeping an eye on this building to see if other contracts have "fallen through," and it didn't take long to find another one that did. I guess a leopard never changes its spots. I'd be curious to hear from the person whose contract "fell through." Co-op boards don't have to give reasons for their denials but that doesn't mean the victims can't talk to one another.
