Broker for rental - compensation

Hello! I have been seeing listings with a broker to find a rental. If the listings are not under my broker's management company name, how does the broker gets paid? Does the other company needs to share the 15%? Does that mean they could refuse my application as it would imply they need to share their fees? Thank you for your help Charlotte
