And no coat closet near the front door for guests' wraps. Must be nice to have servants.

:D Rough life yes, no coat closet boo hoo

He paid 4.77m in 2002 so this doesn't seem to be a fire sale. Be interesting to see if the identity of the owner forces a reduction or several.

I guess one shouldn't pry too much but.. where did he get the kinda dough for a 2002 $4.77M coop & 2004 $3.2M Hamptons home purchase immediately after being mayor for 8 years?

He had a couple short 4-5 year private law stints in between working for the feds 8 years, as far as I can tell.

I mean, this is 20 years ago when $8M in RE was some real money, no? And to still have that kind of dough after 2 divorces no less?

Aaron, it's a good question. That weird security company he formed with Bernie Kerik supposedly paid him a few million a year.

1) Divorce while mayor (?)
2) Cash in on speaker fees at $100K a pop.

It looks like he might have cleared $10M+ in some years. But it all seems to have gone through him like a sieve.

Sorry, I stand corrected. I was looking at the PH, not 10W. I rather like the floorplan of 10W (Was thinking that the PH was rather unlike him. And that would explain the flag in the corner of 10W's den).

You can like it or not, but I think it's pretty classic for its ilk.

It *is* classic, and appears to be mostly move-in ready (some might wish to call in a shaman to remove any remaining bad vibes). Decent sized rooms, good separation of public / private / service spaces, good light, an EIK for when you don't want to set the DR table, pretty good location (though the building has retail downstairs - wonder how the ownership is structured). MBR bath is a bit quirky but manageable. I've always liked the building, and landmarked, so maintenance is always going to be high.

Might also need to call a serious cleaning crew, as per article he used to smoke cigars in the library. If you are sensitive to that.

the cigars would be the least of my concerns for any cleaning crew.
