Buyers, Sellers Seeing Advantage of Off-Market Home Sales https://therealdeal.com/new-york/2024/05/05/buyers-sellers-seeing-advantage-of-off-market-home-sales/I
@30 - yeah I keep getting cold called from brokers claiming to have buyers for my building
of course, when I respond "great, let me know when you have an offer" the line goes dead
really just fishing for off-market listings

steve123, what’s funny is when I get calls / letters for places I am renting.
I bet it is someone names "Michael Mier". He has buyer for every building.
Meier.
omg - that guy even mailed our building residents, by our names! (as opposed to "Current Resident"). Not even e-mail but actual hard copy through USPS.
I will note that we haven't received a solicitation from him for a few years, but I remember the name because it was handwritten, and we have an old friend with that name with whom we had lost touch. When we saw his name, we curiously opened the envelope to find that the gentleman with the same name had a buyer looking for an apartment in our building with our specific floorplan and exposures.
And I thought we were special. :(
Smarter scams will use personalization. You are special multicityresident. Congratulations on your 1981 posts since January 2009.
Amazingly the broker cold calling us managed to find my out of state childhood home phone number and call my parents looking for me. I haven’t lived there in over 20 years.
Crazy and desperate for listings.
Steve, I think that would make me very unhappy and complain to his firm legal.
Are email lists/hard mail lists available for sale ?
Would a managing agent sell the lists ?
