I’m sorry to hear that, 30yrs. I never met Gil in my NYC RE interactions, but I know you & him were close, and that he mentored many a broker. RIP.

Condolences. We actually did a few deals together many years ago (I think it was Chelsea gardens?) What I remember most was a very good sense of humor.

It's hard to explain the magnitude of this loss -- to Chelsea Gardens, where he was board president for many years; to Chelsea as a whole, a neighborhood where he was practically the honorary mayor; to the Fire Island Pines (where he was at least honored at the last Pines Party, so he knew how beloved he was); to the gay community throughout NYC, where he worked so hard to make sure everyone had representation; to the real estate industry, where he traced his roots all the way back to the Downtown Brokers Association, and where he was a gentleman of the kind they don't make anymore; and to his family and many many friends. He was such a New Yorker, and this is such a loss to New York. I hear four memorials are planned, which still aren't enough somehow.
30, I had called you the minute I heard the news -- you can call anytime you want to talk.

I am just going to throw some dirt on the grave: I did not personally know this gentleman. I just knew of him. But, I feel the loss of a unique man who lived life on his own terms until the end. R.I.P.
