I thought she was still in middle America, do you need her?

@mcr we're currently in Paris. Hit me up, you can meet the Burkhardt group (family ; )

Hey! Thank you for thinking of me stache. I have been traveling for the past month trying to keep up with Mr. MCR, but nowhere near as exciting as Paris or Istanbul (@Keith - envious!). I am particularly bitter that there was a Hamptons leg of the travel that bypassed my preferred NYC.

In any event, I am back Nowhere, checking in on Streeteasy to see if anything in the niche that we are trying to sell is moving.

The good news is that the niche is moving; the bad news is that our apartment is not.

We are in "no man's market." Not nice enough to appeal to those who can afford it; those who love it cannot afford it.

The current plan: We are going to chop the price by $125K by decoupling the bonus room that is located on another floor because we have three intra-building offers at $125K that we can fall back on for that space if a potential buyer is attracted to the apartment without that room. Mr. MCR does not even try to hide his hope that this will not work.

I'm confused as to why you're selling. Lack of time here?

I chose that location as a place to live in NY, not a place to visit. We are never going to live there, so not only does it not have value to me, but it sparks a bitterness in me that would recede into the abyss in its absence. I tend to be happy wherever I am, but the existence of that apartment reminds me of a place I'd rather be if I am being honest with myself. If I am just going to visit NY once in awhile, I'd rather stay at the Phillips Club. Not a location I'd want to live (TPC is at 155 W66th), but an excellent location for visiting that gives me the best of NY without any feeling of what was supposed to be "home."

Sounds like a millstone - I hope it moves soon. You really did a lovely renovation - nice touches.

mcr you are wise enough to know what is most important in life. Plus you have been here enough that I think you 'know' the city pretty well. This is a privilege many people can't claim. We welcome your visits.

Thanks stache. I do feel good about the choices and am genuinely happy with my current set up; I just would prefer the reminder of a sliding door to go away (along with any hope from the building's current residents that I will ever get back involved; while I became fond of the dysfunctional family in the way that one does, I just don't have time and don't even want to know what is going on).

@MTH - Yes, a millstone.
