Toren link

http://www.torencondo.com/

What these 4 condo's have in common are unique artistic structures that are what I would term "Iconic".

Also like 170 East End Avenue another modern glass building with an unusual design overlooking Carl Shurtz Park on the upper east side.

I'd really be remiss if I didn't include 40 Bond, Ian's Schrager's gem mentioned by rufus.

Truly another iconoclastic structure. That is 6 and I could keep on going but then I would be more obnoxious than I already am.

Palazzo Chupi!! But not for its aesthetics. I just find it fascinating. Chupi is a cruel, pink mistress.

Junkman, do you post on anything but the Toren. I get that you like the building, but I think its a huge stretch to include it on a top list.

Rufus, I can't think of anything you missed on that list.... except maybe the clocktower on Madison Square (but I guess it needs to be built first).;-)

I do not particularly like 101 Warren though.

Yea, I post on condos other than the Toren. I think I mentioned 5 others? (see my list above)

I thought the question was "list YOUR favorites" . I did.

Looking at your original post, you mentioned 3 others... one I recognize from the post where you noted it had the same architect as Toren. It sounds a little self-serving to me.

So how are these favorite developments doing?

All you who post about declines in the prime condo market, give us some specific recent anecdotes.

100 11th, HL23, and 200 11th, are nice buildings, but they're in a terrible location, especially with the strip club going up in that area. unless it gets gentrified, those condos are not worth the money. why spend seven figures to live in a dirty dangerous place full of seedy people?

Rufus: West Chelsea, with the addition of the High Line park, is definitely on the upswing.

ssc2004, i respectfully disagree. i was in the area a few days ago, and it felt downright dangerous.

4x/wk on the therapist's couch. Focus on your phobias, among other things.

phobia? if you read curbed or any other NYC real estate blog, you would know that area is pretty grimy and dangerous. most other NYC people agree with me on this point.

I love West Chelsea and would happily move there - it's kind of edgy and 10th avenue has terrific restaurants. I love that Balenciaga, Comme des Garcons and the various art galleries line grimy blocks amongst gas stations and parking lots. The new construction is architectually interesting, but I would prefer something pre-war.
