I can't wait to see how the brokers spin this. Manhattan RE is royally screwed. Just wait until the year-end layoffs hit.

Manhattan real estate never goes down in value.

FYI Wachovia's 3,000 investment bankers in the city are also likely to lose their jobs with the Wells takeover. It's just not pretty out there, and it's the end of the investment-bank orgy that got us to where we are.

I just wish the government would lend me $25 billion at 5% interest. Guess I'll just have to buy a lottery ticket.
