inactive listings

I'm outing myself as a novice, but I was hoping someone could shed some light on this: why do listings on Streeteasy become "inactive"? Does this mean that the seller couldn't find any acceptable offers? That he or she decided not to sell? That there was a sale, but the site somehow missed it? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

My understanding is that it includes all of the above, except it also includes actual sales and rentals. They used to list these as sales, but were inadvertantly including withdrawals from the market, as well as owners switching brokers. By saying "inactive", it includes everything.
