Discussion about
Someone mentioned getting someone to deep clean your apartment in the staging discussion. What exactly does that mean? I've heard the phrase used before but don't know the specifics. It sounds like something I want even though I'm not selling my apartment. Anyone have any recommendations?
I used Duraclean Licetti Co (a franchise of the national duraclean) for upholstered items and carpets...
Basically, its a chemical deep clean of stuff you can't really "wash". Made a pretty nice difference. I think its like $200 for just a couch, but then extra items are less once already there.

It isn't really a term of art, but suggests a very thorough cleaning. This would include emptying kitchen and bathroom and furniture cabinets and closets and really getting the shelves and rods and nooks clean, cleaning windows inside and out, dusting the top of every picture frame and door jamb and hard to reach place, scrubbing fingerprints and dirt from light plates and walls, etc, cleaning inside light fixtures where appropriate, drapery and carpets cleaned professionally, getting behind the refrigerator and under the stove... Generally it is more a time commitment on the part of the cleaner than any magic technique. You will actually feel the difference afterward and won't believe you lived with the amount of dirt you had become accustomed to.
FWIW, Organic Cleaning out of Suffolk does work in NYC a day or two a week and uses no chemicals. I don't especially care about the organic part, but I like that they are dependable and good cleaners. You can contact Irma at 631-662-9440 or 631-960-8048.
I hear there is a new pain free, laser technique that allows for deep cleaning. Ask your dentist.
