I got tired of the Jeremiah Wright platitudes a long time ago, but .... I see nothing anti-American about Jeremiah Wright or anything he ever said in church that was then broadcast in sound bites on youtube. I don't know much about Ayers, but this characterization of him as an unrepentant (sp?) terrorist is another one of those over the top hyperboles. It's all so ..... ooh, FRIGHTENING. But for some reason I can't work up the energy to frighten myself about it.

I think the Obama for President campaign should be allowed to respond to the Ayers (connected with a terrorist) garbage for themselves, and they already have, long ago:

As of today, the REPUBLICANS nationalized banks. To hell with everything else, let's start from the top, right?

To me, he always sounded like an Old Testament prophet calling out the children of Israel for their sins. Of course, the populace didn't exactly like most of the old prophets either. Seems one of the most pro-American things one could do is call us out for our failures. and anti-American is to cover them up. I guess the other thing pro-American I can think of is risking your life for the country (which Wright did, and which few criticizing him have).

Typical NYC liberals. For you guys, blaming your country for the 9/11 attacks is not anti-American but merely being "prophetic." It's amazing how out of touch NYC people are with the rest of the country.

The rest of the country appears to be poised to vote for Obama by a wide margin.

Rufus - Most Americans think a US president deciding (since he is the decider) to invade a country that had nothing to do with 9-11 and had no WMD's and which led to the deaths of over 4,200 US soldiers (all the while letting the real man behind 9-11 escape) to be about as anti-American as you can get.

It is amazing how low politics has gone. The next thing they're going to accuse Obama of is not voting for Harry Truman.

No, it's amazing how out of touch those in the nation NOT recognizing the hand of our past policies in contributing to 9/11 are. If we can't see the repercussions of our past actions, how can we shape our future to the course we desire?

Only the demagogues speak of antiAmericanism in this context. Frankly, I want our nation safe and prosperous, and the naive world view of too many on the Left and the Right is threatening to that desire. We need to grow up and swallow hard and face the truth.

The Left is screwy about a lot of things. But one of the best things the Right can do is listen to Jeremiah wright. He has much to teach them. They close their ears to their own peril, and the peril of the nation.
