By the way, someone should link to SteveF's post where he says how he is selling RE to invest in stocks. MORE IMPORTANTLY: last guy to tell us about his stock investments was Spunky. Not many of you may remember him, but he was the biggest real estate bull at the TOP of the market (so insane he got kicked off) and then told us all about his Long Term Stock Investments once the market started to sell off a little: Citi and Merrill I recall. I personally called him out as being the biggest dbag in the city and how great it would be to actually watch him get destroyed. Unfortunately he got kicked off this site long before the bottom. SteveF may just be Spunky.

As long as the housing one purchases is thought of as an "investment" to be made money from rather than a "home" to live in, RE will never drop down to reasonable prices. Pity.

Sure... but chasing performance, as Steve has done, is lousy investment. He told everyone to buy RE before we tanked 20-25% Then that goes south for him, and he says he's selling to buy stocks... AFTER he misses the 70% runup.
