Could this be the bitter former New Yorker with too much time on his hands, that he uses to trash the city that he was forced to leave? Ariel Litvin, who is 34, survived three rounds of layoffs at Bear Stearns, only to lose his 80-hour-a-week job as a real estate underwriter in August. So, for roughly five weeks, he took advantage of the down time, visiting friends in various cities around the country. %u201CFor the two years prior I had basically been living in my cube,%u201D Mr. Litvin said. But job hunting in New York proved fruitless %u2014 and he lost half of his severance money after investing it in Lehman Brothers. So Mr. Litvin and his girlfriend decided to move to Chicago, where she found a position with a real estate firm. He rented out his co-op near Union Square for $3,700 a month and is moving next week. While the job market in Chicago is dreadful, Mr. Litvin said, his housing expenses, at least, will be way down %u2014 $1,800 a month for a two-bedroom in trendy Wicker Park. But he is going grudgingly. %u201CRight now I%u2019m really enjoying being in New York, even though I%u2019m unemployed,%u201D he said. %u201CI%u2019m not ready to leave.%u201D [less]
Hahaha

Pretty sure Rufus 1) never even got as far as Bear Stearns (at least not in a quasi-front office function) 2) has never had a girlfriend 3) is nowhere near 34.
No, Cracker Boy is totally unemployable, but used connections from his sorority at Southern Illinois University to get himself a job (or temp gig, anyway) as a junior bookkeeper, then he got fired (of course). End of story. Except we do don't really know what part of Hammond, Indiana, his part-time junior bookkeeper temp gig was in.
Now he's a non-working capitalist who's "collecting".
If anyone is in the process of renting an apartment right now from an individual owner and is near contract, avoid phone calls until Wednesday early afternoon. At that point, call the owner and/or broker and negotiate 15% off and also if there was a brokerage fee of 15%, say you are willing only to split one month, with the owner paying half. If you are already at 1 month, good for you for not being a chump, but say that you are no longer at all comfortable with the broker fee outlay. Do it!
