I lived in 160 East 91st St. for several years and thought it was a really great building. Part time doorman, working elevators, decent location (a little too far north, but as it was a few blocks from both the express train and the park, it was quite appealing to me). Building was quiet, well maintained, and financially healthy. Every unit in the building, however, was on the small side, and many of the apartments on the sides of the building had no view (as in there's a brick wall six feet from my window).

Would I live there again for 290k? No, the price needs to be reduced considerably, but it was otherwise a great place to live.

I also have been hearing from friends that prices for studios are dropping and dropping fast. The above size will hopefully go much lower. $299k for an alcove studio sounds like heaven...when it happens.
