Discussion about
This is coming from a NYC broker. It's a shame that NYC is still so grimy and rundown. http://afinecompany.blogspot.com/2008/11/stroll-down-west-14th-condos-and-more.html

What is coming from a NYC broker, you mean this quote:

"You would think that someone would show these condos a little love. After all, they are smack in the middle of what is left of the real New York and with a close proximity to The High Line, Meat Packing, West Village and Chelsea, you couldn't be better situated."

ccdevi, i guess you conveniently glossed over the part where he describes west 14th as blighted and reminiscent of the 1970's.

Ironically, the "blighted" and "reminiscent of the 1970's" neighborhoods in NYC are still FAR more desirable than ANYTHING in Chicago.

You basically need to get to the suburbs before you find anything that sucks as much as Chicago.

yeah, i'm sure west 14th is more desirable than the luxury condos and townhomes of gold coast and lincoln park. LOL!

rufie, how many times a day do you use the following words:

1) luxury
2) upscale
3) condos
4) hi-rise

Well he obviously feels that is a good thing, he says the "comforting urban blight" and nevertheless ends with "you would think that someone would show these condos a little love. After all, they are smack in the middle of what is left of the real New York and with a close proximity to The High Line, Meat Packing, West Village and Chelsea, you couldn't be better situated."

Is that how hard up you are, you post articles and misrepresent what they say?

these condos can't sell because wealthy people don't want to live in a filthy urban wasteland.

you mean like One Madison Park right, maybe the most expensive building below 50th st? You know in the area you were ripping on in the other thread. You know the one that sold out fast except for the 45mil penthouse?

So why don't we just compare W14 to some grimy strip in Chicago? This is beyond stupid.

kylewest, there is no grimy strip in the nice areas of Chicago that is comparable to west 14th.

I agree. I like West 14th. Hell, I even sort of like East 14th. Wonder if Rufus has trembled his frightened little self over to Avenues B and C and the side streets within, one of my favorite neighborhoods.

It's funky, but chic.
