Is the guy with the wig actually Hanley with a wig? His video was not funny.

Not me. Sorry you didn't like my video - I brought the house down. And I killed at Gotham on Sunday, as well.

But as someone who's been doing stand-up for a time, is a published author and has had screenplays optioned but not produced, I can assure you that these gentlemen will need a better "Plan B." A 20-minute set in Manhattan at a top comedy club pays $75. Not bad on an hourly basis, but you don't do it 8 hours a day.

Watch the video sober and listen to the laughter, sober. You'll see that the audience was wasted, would have laughed at anything. And if you truly evaluate your jokes, they aren't funny. Go listen to the part where you say you'll go to Mars when they have chips to go with the guacamole. Do you really think that was funny? No

Sorry you're not entertainable, splaken. That joke is actually very clever - if you want wet fart jokes, I'm not the comedian for you.

2009 Steven, try a new years resolution not to always argue. Your jokes may or may not be funny. Those who don't laugh are looking for something else. Those who do laugh are your people. You can't make everyone like you.

NoCrye, I don't care if he likes my jokes or not. Your point was mine. (Though the guacamole line always gets a house laugh.)

My point was that it would be best this year to argue less. I watched the video now, the guacamole probably is best with a lot of alcohol. But that isn't the point.

Guacamole is always better with alcohol.

Oh, splaken, you are so literal. I assume that you believe my niece has a tail, as well.

Why all the anger toward me?

"AgentRachel... Broker by day, Borker by Nite"

:)

splaken should try stand-up, see how easy it is to stand up there for an hour making people laugh.

splaken is an aliases for one of the usual hate posters. His posts have a flavor I had already tasted...very bitter. Go away, dude, find a new site in for this new year. w67th, I hope you put me in a different bag than exit2 and Agentrachel, since I truly apecciate your comments.

Steve I thought your bit about the throw line in lieu of a life guard at the gay beach being akin to "homo-cide" since "everyone knows we can't throw" was absolutely hysterical. However, does that mean that the gay quarterback in "Queer As Folk" was a totally made up character after all the time my friends and I dedicated to guessing who he was based on?

No, I only hate certain foreign policies that involve thousands of dead people and broken families and also thousands of mutilated american soldiers with no real gain for anyone, like Vietnam. I love many things about this country, so many they will be too long to list here. And I can see that you are one of the old nasty guys dressed with a new name...

Well, thousands of dead people can often save millions of dead people (just ask the communists).

Agreed. Same with WWII. But Vietnam and Irak are other story. No winners, just misery for everyone.

mimi... you I like... AR and exit2 ( I was being sarcastic ) that's another story... although AR is still much better than the bigoted exit2.. .good memories of my banter with her, exit2 that is

As a student of history, a foreign born immigrant myself and as much racism and ignorance as I have faced in America, it truly is a great country, just look at Obama. He's got nice pecs too :)

But I do have to ask, (you don't have to answer) what's your interest in Streeteasy?

mimi maybe they ought to bag you, preferably plastic

Vietman is a different story? How was holding back communism not in the best interests of this country?

How is preventing attacks on America not in the interest of our citizens who live here? Is it true you don't even live here and so you think you should still tell us what to do? That isn't right, it isn't quite American.

We haven't had any terrorist attacks on America since 9/11

Lived in NY for over a decade, bought and sold loft in Tribeca, kids born there, moved briefly to CT, almost die of boredom, moved back to my former country to be close to the family, sold last property (in CT) when realized we love living where we live, got the NY bug again, want to have own place there instead of staying with friends every vacation, thinking of probably making longer trips to the city as kids grow older...know sounds crazy but hope will not be a stupid move in the long term. Found the place, tax abated, low maintenance, charming apt in brownstone, made low bid, bounced, still waiting...Ugh, too much info, sorry. I'm joining the ranks of stevejhx...

Well, this real estate talk is all very serious. My point is (and was) that it takes a lot to keep peeps laughing, either as comedy or real estate.

In comedy, you don't get picked for the funniest. You get picked for the most original. And someone may not like my ice on Mars joke, but it's gotten me notice.

Now - it's all about love in 2009. Even malraux (humbly) noted the idiocy of his posts. He's to be honored for that.

Here's to malraux!

stevejhx's comedy is not mainstream comedy at all but has its audience and he seems very confident on stage. Has some funny material and some not so funny material. Steve needs help with his transitions to become smoother.
w67thstreet is not funny at all, I don't know why he thinks he is. If he is trying to be funny, that is news to me. He is just trying to explain his status in life. Unemployed, stay at home Mr. Mom.

"is not mainstream comedy"

Don't even know what that is, but I wouldn't want to be, I don't think.

"Has some funny material and some not so funny material."

Depends on the audience. If it gets a good laugh 75% of the time (which they all do) it's an A joke.

"Steve needs help with his transitions to become smoother."

There are no transitions in stand-up comedy.
