175 Payson in Inwood -- only one unit sold?

This is in my neighborhood. It's on a site that was formerly occupied by a community garden. It's a weird site, because it's at the corner of a fairly busy street -- Seaman Ave -- and a fairly quiet street, Payson Ave. The construction appeared to be completed several months ago -- I know in the summer I was saying to a friend that the darn thing was finished, and apparently nothing was sold. Now, it appears they have finally sold one unit. Every night when you go by, the lights are dark in every unit on every floor, save one. From time to time it appears that someone has moved a few pieces of plastic lawn furniture onto one of the empty balconies, but there are never any lights on in any units at night, except for the one. My friend (who has a broker's license) says that even the appearance of this one sale may be concocted. She says, if it were you, wouldn't you move your nephew into that unit, or someone else of that sort? Because you would never want your building to be completely empty. What if a pipe were to burst or some other mechinical thing were to fail? You always want *somebody* in that building. This thing looks like a total folly. If I recall correctly, they had a banner up on the side of the building when it was first completed saying that one-bedrooms were starting at $415k. Now, after many months, they've sold next to nothing, and have dropped their ask a bit. But it seems to have had no effect. [less]
