Discussion about
9 of the top 17 on this list are in Chicago. And they are building even more highrise condos that are not on this list. Meanwhile, NYC has resorted to converting old office buildings and warehouses and building low-rise condos. http://www.highrises.com/Tallest-Residential-Buildings.php

Are you that desperate for attention that you think posting a list of tall buildings actually means anything? Great poll that does not consider buildings like the TIme Warner Center (750 feet, would be #2) because it is not exclusively condos. You need a hobby other than trolling SE.

What is this the fifteenth time you've posted this same exact thread? You're pathetic Rufass.

Rufus, can you please tell us why Chicago highrise condos tend to have more floors for a given height than New York condos? For the top 10, New York condos tend to average about 11.75 ft/floor whereas the average for Chicago is more than 1 foot less, under 10.75 ft/floor. Is it due the short, squat nature of the average person in Chicago? Or is that just "Chicago archictecture"? Please tell us.

Chicagoans aren't short -- their, um, ample girth makes them appear squat.

I reported this thread as abuse, because it's a re-re-repost.

Hillarious....

We'll also ignore the fact that the #1 is NYC and sort of blows away all of chicago.

lets also not forget that no one buys the high rises in Chicago.
They're supercheap, and yet people in Chicago can't afford them...

Downtown Chicago sales have declined by OVER EIGHTY PERCENT!

"The real estate consulting firm Appraisal Research Counselors reports buyers signed contracts for only 160 condos and townhouses in the third quarter. That's an 82 percent decline from the same period last year. The firm's Gail Lissner says she hasn't seen sales this low since just after September 11th. Lissner says potential buyers are struggling right now."
