YES - we need need need a bottom-up stimulus (I thought top down would work as well but not quite). I felt the most optimism I have ever felt in the last 6+ months reading this (one of the 3 postings :-) )... do others agree?

Yeah, artificially lowering mortgage rates will do the trick. NOT. All it does is put off the day of reckoning, or the US government will have ot offer low interest rates on mortgages forever. Otherwise, the next guy won't be able to afford to buy... gee, that sounds familiar. Oh, yeah, it was easy finacing that got us into this mess. More easy financing will get us out.

Stupid idea, put forth by stupid politicians who do not understand (even at this point) why we are in the mess we are in. God help America because the politicians will not.
