guess who i saw in an elevator in sweats. omg guess who!!!!!
hugh jackman
who
OMG, bitch!
How did you know. I was going to give hints, starting with.....
He had a cute adopted little African-American son and a little daughter with dirty blonde hair.
His wife looked ugly and old.
He had an Australian accent.
I went into his and looked at the other twin building in the village.
But you ruined it!! UGH, how did you know.
and he was smokingg hot.
His address; 176 Perry Street Apartment #10something.
#10s.
Because I saw hugh in my building with robert de niro and other celebs going to a party last year and my reaction was "OMG! That's Hugh Jackman!" he is delicious.
Unfortunately at the time, I was in my sweats enroute to the gym....
His body is gorge.
You should not be posting celebrities or anyones names and addresses on this site. Are you a moron or what?
you have too much time on your hands... get a life
Oh shut up, it's all public information.
are you from oshkosh? Don't publish the address of celebs, shmok. karma, babe. what goes around.
we all know where hugh jackman lives. he just bought hi apartment a few months ago and it was all over the newspapers. but this is new york city, people. is it really that exciting to ride in an elevator with hugh jackman?
D'escargot is indeed from Oshkosh. He posted his address on this board when he first posted. He lives on the mainland somewhere. He's from away.
but....but...Jeff Tweedy lives in Chicago.
Sizzlack, you're being silly.
You know very well there's no such place as "Chicago".
It's a mythical entity, where all the housing is beautiful glass boxes in the sky, with a view of a lake so glittery and vast that it has no end, so clean you can etch glass with it. There's no poverty or crime or squalor (that's all on the far west and far south side, so it doesn't exist). Unicorns romp through magical alleys (okeh, maybe they're actually pasty, corpulent Chicago girls ducking into alleys to projectile vomit the results of their attractive sports-bar drinking games, but you're beer-goggled and can't tell the difference). Guiding the whole thing is a mayoral dynasty that symphonizes the boundless gentrifical forces.
But it doesn't exist in the world of the real.
P.S. -- Love, Thread Jackman

omg guess who!!!!!<<
Ooh! Ooh! A CELEBRITY! Typical out-of-towner reaction. This is why movie stars stay away from places like Oshkosh. Too many over-eager tubbies in cat sweatshirts and elastic-waist jeans clamoring to cop a feel.
His son isn't African American, he's aboriginal. They are from Australia, hello.
D, his wife looked ugly & old. Now I have to doubt how attractive Mr. Jackman truly is. Mrs. J is a very attractive woman from what I can see.
I almost walked into George Clooney once, when he came out of some clothing store on Madison Ave at 2pm on a Weds. I was rushing to a doctor's appointment. Three blocks later, I realized I should have asked George if he had any Dapper Dan hair pomade.
A friend of mine has come to the conclusion that the only proper thing a New Yorker should say to a celebrity is, "I love your work.". I believe this statement received a "Thanks, man" and a thumbs up from Philip Seymour Hoffman. Otherwise, ignore them.
No, you have to avert your eyes and not let them see how bad you feel for them.
I was playing golf last weekend in Orlando and saw Tiger Woods several times, in the locker room, practicing his short game, etc. I said nothing, as I think it would be super rude to bother him at his home club, where he can hang out without continual shouts of "You da man!".
BTW I can verify that his wife is super cute. :-)
modern you are back! how are those real estate investments that aren't yours doing?
His son isn't African American, he's aboriginal. They are from Australia, hello.

What is an aboriginal? Anyway, the child was black. And super cute.

He looked too good looking for her. She looked like his mother or something.
hugh jackman's son is of australian aboriginal descent. he is not of african descent.
Dude named Jack Hugh lives in my building. Does that count for anything?
hugh jackman's son is of australian aboriginal descent. he is not of african descent.
___
Well fine, he's not African-American, he's black.
Better?
Joaquin Phoenix
i walked by hank moody on the street yesterday - madison ave.
he is legendary.
Matt Dillon sat at our booth at the Holiday Cocktail Lounge in 1981 or so. But then he's always been everywhere at all times, no matter what decade it is.
Anyway, I looked the other way the whole time because it's rude to stare at celebrities and other handicapped people.
chris evans used my buidling's gym...was with a 'buddy.' i don't speculate but i wonder if extra cardio was involved back in his bud's room.
Hugh Jackman's wife is not ugly....their children are adopted.
the true New Yorker: alanhart
So, if I quote from E.B. White's book, "Here is New York", I'll be seen as pretentious and trying to show everyone how well read I am. Ok, I'm thinking of the part where White talks about the anonymity of New York, and how it is a gift, one that can be enjoyed by all, including celebrities, who can go about their business without being bothered by other people.
I am also thinking of a passage in The Moviegoer, by Walker Percy, where one of the characters claims his own humanity by walking down the street with William Holden, just talking to him, person to person, without any starstruck kind of behavior.
I see stars all the time, they really do not like it when you freak out over them, some of them want privacy. When I see them, I just pretend like they are any other person, in fact, most of the time I pretend like I didn't notice :)
I have lived in new york for over 20 years. I do not freak out over celebs -- HOWEVER - MY ON TARGET HUGH JACKMAN guess was a gut reaction. When I saw him I did not make a fuss but in my head I said "WOW. He is not only really good looking -- but he is very tall. It is always a disappointment when you meet celebs and they come up to your chin.
I always wanted to carry a camera flash -- not the camera, just the flash -- around to use repeatedly at Matt Dillon when he was slumming (which I define as being wherever I am).
Instead, I saw half of Mary-Kate and Ashley a few months ago at an election night party and I ignored her.
I try to ignore most celebrities but I did chat up Natalie Portman until my wife interrupted. Oh well, she is vegan, where the hell would I take her?
"What is an aboriginal?" Uh, I got nuthin' 'cept nasty retorts.
Saw Abe Vigoda eating soup at a Hale n' Hearty on Lex. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! He's soooooooooooo amazing !!!!!!!!!!!
Aboriginals are the native people of Australia. Don't you guys know about Wikipedia?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigenous_Australians
did i not already answer that question?
celebrities are generally not that thrilling, usually pretty disappointing to meet (let alone just see). but the great thing about new york is running into truly exceptional people. i met merce cunningham and jasper johns the other day. i ran into chuck close in the elevator at moma a few weeks ago. joe stiglitz has his office about ten feet from one of my good friends from grad school. Judith Jamison seems to be everywhere. that's pretty cool.
happyrenter,
I don't think you ever defined the term aboriginal. You just kept saying his son was of aboriginal descent, but that doesn't help if the person does not know the definition of the word.
Anyway, I'll put a plug in for Bruce Chatwin's wonderful book, Songlines, about the Aboriginal people and their belief that everything in the world is sung into existence, and in order to remain in existence, has to continue to be sung every day.
There is a funny part where they take a tribesman out in a jeep. They can't understand any of the songs until they slow down to a walking pace. The guy was trying to sing everything into existence at 30 miles an hour, when, obviously, they usually walk around.
See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Songlines
Hugh Jackman got his body from the same pharmacy as A Rod, Giambi, Bonds etc...
juiceman she is a vegan for a reason, the less you eat the better :) i think some celebrities like the west village sometimes because you can find beautiful and spacious apartments with high ceilings in a vibrant block that is still somewhat hidden - like Grove or Bank, or Jane or Perry - I am sure there are more like further downtown or UWS, and I am biased because I like the west village more than not. A celebrity client once told me that she literally couldn't stand her apartment because her doorman always knew her business and people were always looking in the elevator. She wanted something without doorman, without elevator but awesome and did i mention private? private :)
It seems like a lot of downtown condos attract celebrities. I saw Natalie Portman at 15 Broad, not too long ago.
